A Walk That Changed The Lives of Many
Sean Gobin started his career in the military as an infantry rifleman in the United States Marine Corps. Throughout his 12-year career in the Marine Corps, Sean served as a Platoon Commander, Company Commander, Operations Officer, and Assessment Officer. During his time in the military, Sean deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and once to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Sean left the military in 2012 and embarked on a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.
Originally, Sean was walking to raise money for disabled Veterans. During the hike he realized that there was a therapeutic benefit to long distance hiking that could help other Veterans who are experiencing trouble readjusting after a deployment or leaving the military. After completing his thru-hike in 2012. Sean formed Warrior Expeditions, an organization dedicated to supporting Veterans who want to take advantage of the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors.
