Ever since 1936 when the Appalachian Park was established, some of the animal species that were eliminated or extirpated have been reintroduced several years later back into the park by the help of the Park Management, or have even came back on its own. Some of those animal species are the white-tailed deer and several turkeys that were reintroduced in 1934. The beaver species were also reintroduced back into the park but are rare since their habitat is restricted in a small area. The cougar also known as the mountion lion was seen in the park for several years from a few people but its "sightings have never been officially documented." Bobcats have also been reintroduced but today there is only a few of them and are hardly ever seen.
